I am Doug Holder the arts/editor for The Somerville Times. As you know, small independent newspapers are in great peril these days. Community newspapers like The Somerville Times are rapidly closing due to the expenses for printing, distribution, etc.. Since 1968 The Somerville Times has been a valuable resource of community reportage. Not only this--for the last 20 or so years we have published poets, and interviews with writers and artists of all stripes in our city and beyond. Few papers publish poetry these days--arts columns have shrunk to the microscopic--but the Somerville Times continues to do this, both online and print. We are devoted to putting out a print newspaper--when these are becoming rarer and rarer. Won't you help us continue to provide this service?
