Jessica Sierakowski and her husband Nick Sierakowski have five children who are pre-school age through 18, including their 14-year-old son, who is special needs. Jessica is a project manager at The National Advanced Mobility Consortium, her husband, Nick, works at the University of Michigan Medicine and is an Organ Procurement Coordinator.

This year, Jessica and Nick were asked by a cousin who lives in California if they’d be willing to allow her four kids to live with them as they were placed in emergency foster care for almost 2 years; their ages are 5, 7, 9, and 11. In December 2023, Jessica and Nick agreed, as a family, that if the parents were unable to gain their children back through upcoming hearings, they would foster to adopt them to avoid the children being placed in the foster system permanently.

In June, the four siblings were officially placed with Jessica and Nick, and they are working with CPS to move through the foster to adopt system. This generous decision from the Sierakowski family will now keep the siblings together, and provide a loving, stable home for them to thrive.

However, this comes with many costs. In addition to medical, dental, safety, extracurricular and material needs such as food, beds, clothing etc… Jessica and Nick will need to add on to their current home to provide additional bedrooms for the children, and most urgently, need to purchase a Sprinter Van to fit all the children.

I have set up this GoFundMe to ask the community, those that have interacted with Jessica and Nick, to help raise money for them to purchase the Sprinter Van. Anything we can do to help ease their financial burden while they invest all their energy into welcoming these children with compassion and empathy, into their family, is appreciated.
