My name is Hitesh Joshi, and I am writing this with a heavy heart to honor my dear friend of 23 years, Prashant Sharma, who passed away suddenly on April 2nd, 2026 leaving behind his wife Divya and 2 children - Rishika (12 years old) and Rudra (7 years old).

Prashant and I met in 2003 as international students at George Brown College in Canada. From those early days, I knew him as a man of rare character—honest, genuine, and always the first to offer help to others, even when he had very little himself. He never took shortcuts and lived his life with a quiet, stubborn integrity.

A Life of Resilience

The last few years were incredibly difficult for Prashant. He faced a relentless series of setbacks—health struggles, job instability, and financial burdens—that would have broken most people. Throughout it all he fought a courageous battle with health issues, seeking therapy and medication to stay strong for the people he loved most: his wife Divya and his two children.

Tragically, the physical toll of stress and depression became too much. On the morning of April 2nd, Prashant became unresponsive. Despite the heroic efforts of his wife who performed CPR and the paramedics who fought to save him, Prashant did not make it.

How You Can Help

Prashant leaves behind a family that was his entire world but they are now facing a very uncertain future. With Prashant’s passing, Divya is now the sole earner, carrying the immense responsibility of raising two children and managing all household and medical expenses on her own. Prashant did not have significant savings and the road ahead for Divya and the kids is daunting.
