Our family is currently going through a deeply painful and uncertain time.

Derek Dunn, from Medicine Hat, AB, was reported missing on April 2, 2026. He was last seen in Whistler, BC, and his vehicle was later located near Pemberton, BC.

Derek is known for being kind-hearted, thoughtful and intelligent, and his family is doing everything they can to support efforts to locate him and understand what happened. Since his disappearance, the family has been working closely with authorities to assist in the search. This includes coordinating information, being available for updates, and helping support ongoing efforts in any way possible.

Why support is needed

This situation has created unexpected emotional and financial strain on the family. As they focus their energy on the search, they are also facing additional costs, including:

• Travel and transportation related to search efforts

• Daily living expenses during this period

• Costs related to additional search efforts

• Printing and awareness materials to help with outreach

• Other unforeseen costs related to the ongoing situation

How funds will be used

All funds raised will go directly to Derek’s family to support ongoing search efforts and related expenses. This includes, but is not limited to, additional search activities and travel within the Whistler and Pemberton, BC area. Funds may be used for accommodation, meals, transportation for family members or searchers, and other unforeseen costs as the search continues. This support will help ease the financial burden on the family so they can remain focused on search efforts and stay connected with investigators and support services.
