Support the Scrivers
Dear family, friends, and strangers alike,
It is with a heavy heart this GoFundMe page is being shared; however sometimes God has a plan in store for us we do not understand. For the Scriver family, their world was turned upside down when God threw a curve ball no one anticipated.
During a doctor visit on September 12th, 2020, doctors identified multiple masses in Phil’s brain and transferred him to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in the twin cities for further assessment. There, Phil underwent an MRI and doctors identified several tumors of varying sizes in his brain. Phil and Danielle met with a team of specialists who confirmed his melanoma (previously treated) has returned and spread to his brain. The diagnosis is Stage IV melanoma. The team of specialists have
formulated a plan to fight the cancer, beginning next week with stereotactic radiation in hopes to shrink and manage the tumor sites. From there, the oncologist will meet with Phil and reassess the situation to decide the next steps. The treatment will take place in the cities at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
The family asks that you keep Phil, Danielle, their four sons; Rogan (10), Weston (8), Everett (5), and Whitley (2), and the medical professionals in your thoughts and prayers. Phil is physically doing well and feels fine, though he and Danielle are mentally and emotionally exhausted from the news, tests, and prognosis. The boys took the news pretty hard and could use extra prayers to help them through this difficult time. They are trying to stay positive through diligent prayer and support from family and friends. Strong faith in God and his perfect plan, even when it is not understood, is keeping the family positive and ready to fight the cancer.
The family is not yet sure of the financial impact of the situation. Between medical bills, trips to and from the cities for treatment, and finding care for their young children, they know the financial burden will be significant. Any and all help through this difficult time are greatly appreciated – your generosity in prayers, monetary gifts, calls/texts, and kind gestures (ex. meals for the family, running errands, watching the children, etc.) to offer support will help take the burden off their shoulders.
God bless you all. Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9
