Help Our Family (The Santana’s) Recover After Losing Our Home to a Fire

On December 12th, our lives changed in an instant. After years of hard work, we had finally repaired, remodeled, and freshly painted our home — a place we’ve lived in longer than almost anyone on our block. This home wasn’t just where we lived; it was where our memories lived. It was our safe haven, the hosting house, the place filled with warmth, laughter, and love for so many people.

Today, that home is unlivable.

The damage has been devastating, and while we are grateful that everyone in the Santana family is alive and safe (Vanessa, Brian, Roxana, Abuela - my grandma), we are now facing an overwhelming road to recovery. To make things even harder, our insurance is only covering structural damage, leaving us with no support for interior destruction, repairs, housing, medical treatments or the countless personal items we’ve lost.

We are currently displaced, trying to figure out temporary housing, replace basic necessities, and piece together next steps — all while mourning the home that meant everything to us. We are grateful for family and friends who have offered us stay over the next few weeks.
