Support the Rutan Family's Road to Recovery

Hi Everyone!

My name is Kalia and I am putting this page together to try and help out one of the cutest families and some of the kindest people I know after a tragedy changed their lives over the weekend.

On Saturday July 13th Josh and Kristen Rutan were driving home with their two girls after a long fun day in the sunshine visiting friends. It was a BEAUTIFUL day so they were driving Josh's newly back on the road jeep wrangler with the top off just enjoying every minute of the day. They were on the final stretch and almost home when coming into Stanwood as they were going through a stop light a vehicle ran the red light and smashed into them flipping the jeep over a number of times before finally coming to a stop. Although everyone THANKFULLY made it out with their lives, they did not do so completely unharmed. Kristen was Ejected from the Vehicle and landed in a nearby body of sticker bushes even with wearing her seatbelt. She has multiple fractured ribs, a cracked/fractured sacrum (pelvis area), a concussion, a hematoma on her left leg and right elbow, and SEVERE cuts and bruises all over her body from the sticker bushes.

Josh has suffered a SEVERE concussion and with that has lost all memory of the accident all together. He has severe bruising all over his face, both black eyes, and multiple lumps all over his head.

Brookes (Their youngest baby girl 2 years old) was on the passenger side behind Kristen and suffered a broken arm which she had to have surgery on immediately, multiple stitches in her forehead, and is still currently being taken to the walk in clinic as now she is unable to put weight on her leg.

And finally Remington (their oldest 3 1/2 years old) THANKFULLY and by some miracle escaped with only small bumps and bruises and has been at grandmas house since the night of the accident.

The most important thing through this is obviously that their family remains whole and they can begin their road to recovery together. With that said, I already have seen the amount of support that they have from all of their family and loved ones around them and it is truly amazing. I wanted to create this to help out with the financial burden as much as possible. They have a long road ahead of them and with Josh being the sole income provider and being out of work they will need all the help they can get.

Anything you can do to help is literally amazing. Whether that's a donation or simply sharing their story to get this as much exposure as we can, IT ALL HELPS.....nothing is to small.

All the money raised will go to covering Insurance deductibles, income supplementation so they can still make their bills, along with additional costs that will come with physical therapy, doctors visits, and helping out their immediate families who have already and will continue in supporting them.
