It’s with heavy heart that we reach out to the community for support for Riggins family as they navigate what is undoubtedly the hardest time of their lives.

Josh was an amazing man. Many knew him from the fireline where he proudly served as a Mad River Hotshot. Josh was also an amazing husband to Bridget and father to a daughter Cheyahn and sons Riley and William. He was their hero and a wonderful provider.

On February 10th Josh and Bridget travelled to UCSF for her to undergo a major surgery. Bridget was scheduled to be discharged from the hospital to come home and heal on February 12th. Josh had been staying in a hotel during the hospital visit. That morning he was not answering his phone. Knowing something was wrong, Bridget had a welfare check done. Josh was found unresponsive.

We don’t know how this happened but what we do know is that this family is reeling and they need us right now.
