My name is Dainielle and I’m raising $100,000 to help my family and our community in Middlesex, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica rebuild after the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. The storm struck our parish with full force, destroying three family homes, tearing off roofs, and leaving us without electricity, furniture, and limited access to clean water.
One of the homes will need significant structural repairs and basic furniture such as mattresses, a dining table, and a refrigerator. We also need to restore the goat pen, which provides an important source of income for the family.
Funds will be used to repair roofs and structural damage, replace essential furniture, purchase solar-powered lights and power banks, and secure a Starlink connection to ensure communication and online access. With electricity unlikely to return for the rest of 2025, these resources are critical to daily life.
In addition, the funds will help maintain basic needs during the rebuilding process—covering the transport of clean drinking water, mosquito repellant for evenings, shipping fees for overseas donations, and repairs to the road leading up to the homes so materials and supplies can reach safely.
For anyone who prefers to send physical items, we’ve also created an Amazon link where you can ship much-needed supplies directly to them.
We are a family rooted in resilience, faith, and community. While we are doing everything we can with the resources available, your support can help us recover faster and rebuild stronger. Every contribution—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or sending supplies—brings us one step closer to restoring stability and hope.
On behalf of the Richards family thank you for standing with us and helping to rebuild our family homes and community. ❤️❤️❤️
