Support the Revival of Pleasant Point Cemetery
Donation protected

Instead of birthday gifts, I try to give back to a local nonprofit every year. Last year, ya'll raised over $400 for the Middleburg Museum, and I was absolutely blown away.
This year is a little different, as I'm doing a gofundme vs. a Facebook fundraiser. A lot of my family and friends know that I have been involved in the cleaning up of a historical black cemetery in Green Cove Springs. Pleasant Point/Woodlawn Cemetery began before the Civil War as a slave cemetery, and burials continued up until the 1960s. For some reason, it laid abandoned and forgotten until last year, when I started working with Steve Griffith to restore the cemetery and give those buried there peace and dignity.
Any contribution made will go towards several things. Up until this point, this project has been funded solely by us and very good friends we've made along the way. Until we find an organization that will back us with a 501c3-status, we cannot receive grants.
Money from this fundraiser will go towards gravel and dirt (to level the multiple graves that have been neglected and fallen over and/or sunk) and headstone repair and cleaning materials (a huge thanks to Kathy and Bob for helping us with this). Steve is also in the process of getting quotes on a sign for the entrance of the cemetery.
I will include links to recent newspaper articles the cemetery has been featured in, along with Steve's YouTube channel where he had been documenting this journey since October of 2024.
Please feel free to share and thank you for taking the time to read this. All money raised will be invested into Pleasant Point.
