At the center of Brandon, Iowa, stands a proud but weathered building — the Brandon State Savings Bank, located at 502 Main Street. Built in 1915, it was once a symbol of growth, trust, and community strength. Now, thanks to the efforts of the Brandon Historical Society, it has the chance to become something even greater.

Why This Project Matters

For decades, the Brandon State Savings Bank was the heart of our town’s commerce. Farmers opened their first accounts here. Business owners launched their dreams. Families saved for their futures. Today, the building stands empty, but its story isn’t over.

With your help, we plan to restore and transform the old bank into a vibrant community space — part museum, part cultural center, and part educational resource. It will be a place where people can gather, learn, and reconnect with what makes Brandon special.

What We Need

Restoring a historic building takes time, skill, and funding. With a goal of $50,000 we’re raising funds to help cover:

- Roof and window repair

- Exterior masonry and structural work

- Heating/cooling and electrical updates

- Interior restoration (floors, walls, trim)

- Accessibility improvements

- Museum displays, signage, and archival preservation

Every dollar will go directly toward the renovation and transformation of the space.
