UPDATE: We spoke to our lawyer this morning. As of now, Tony’s mom has accepted Rob’s proposal of how he feels custody should go due to her move. She agreed but has insisted on not having any financial responsibility for Tony. After speaking to our lawyer, we have a great plan in place to ensure Tony’s needs are met fully. He was able to reduce the retainer cost by $1,000 which means the total is $2,500. Once we pay the retainer, he can have the agreement typed up and sent for her to sign, etc. Since this agreement is everything she has agreed to, we are hopeful for no backlash. If you feel led to give, we would greatly appreciate the support. Again, everything will go toward the retainer.
We have a legal battle coming our way and need some help with the retainer. Our first custody case caused us financial hardship and we cannot get a loan/credit card for this.
Tony’s biological mother is now married and moving out of state. Tony will stay with us full time however she is trying to have every holiday and four day weekend for the duration of her time out of Texas. We have spoken to a lawyer that is a member of our church prior to this information to obtain full custody as Tony is not in a safe environment when he is with her. Now with this new situation, we have to be smart and legally do the right thing to ensure the best for Tony.
First and foremost, we ask for Tony to be wrapped in prayers. He’s gone through so many changes due to this ongoing situation. Second, if God places on your heart to give - we would greatly appreciate it.
100% of this money will go to the lawyer to have her served as soon as possible. This is an urgent situation and cannot wait.
