Support the rebuilding of Horseback Archery in Mongolia
Donation protected
Recently, tragedy struck the horseback archery community.
Eighteen horses from the Namnaa Academy in Mongolia were stolen. Horses that were not only well cared for and loved, but trained partners in preserving Mongolian tradition through the art of horseback archery. Tragically, they were not recovered. They were killed and sold for meat.

This loss is heartbreaking—not just for them, but for all of us who love this sport, these animals, and the unique cultures that keep them alive. Many international competitors have ridden these very horses, especially during the IHAA 2023 World Championships.
We know that no amount of money will undo what has happened. We cannot bring back these horses, nor erase the pain their riders and caretakers are feeling.
But what we can do is show that we are a community. That we stand together. That we care for one another—and that we will not let this be the end of something so meaningful.
I’ve started this fundraiser not out of obligation, but out of support for the people who once welcomed me with open arms—and lent me a horse to train and compete with in 2023. Saying “how awful” just didn’t feel like enough. I want to give something back. And I know I’m not alone: many others have expressed a wish to help, and I’m happy to support and help coordinate that effort.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
- Acquiring new horses suitable for horseback archery
- Training and caring for these horses
- Enabling students to continue training and helping the academy preserve and promote Mongolian horseback archery
When the campaign closes, I will personally ensure that all collected funds reach the right people in Mongolia.
No one is obligated to donate. But if you love this sport, this community, or simply believe in solidarity and resilience—please consider it. Every contribution—large or small—helps rebuild not just a place, but hope, strength, and the future of horseback archery in Mongolia.
Let’s stand together. Let’s keep the spirit alive. Let’s give back.
P.S. The goal is just a starting point—let’s see how far we can go together.
