Help for Ramos family - deported by ICE…

The mother of this beautiful tribe of humans is a lovely woman named Elisa, who devotedly cleaned my house every two weeks for about 10 years. Rain or shine, she always showed up, never raised her rates, and left my house sparkling.

She and her husband Juan have been in this country for over 20 years. They raised their children here to give them opportunities they couldn’t find in the small village in Mexico they were from. They worked hard to give their children the best life and education they could. Danny is working and just had a baby, and Jenny is getting her master's in social work at USC.

The children were granted a DACA visa, which means they can work in the US but they cannot leave the US. If they do, they will not be allowed back in.

Here is a note from their daughter Jenny…

“On Tuesday, August 26th, my dad was on his way to work and was unexpectedly detained by ICE and is now facing deportation. Our family is heartbroken and doing everything we can to bring him home. My dad has lived here for 20 years and is the backbone of our family. We depend on his love, guidance, and support. He is kind, loving, and a hardworking man who always put his family first.”

Since that time, he has been detained and was just deported to Mexico. Elisa will follow him soon - they have not been in Mexico in 20 years and will never be able to return to the US.

This means they will probably not see their children or grandchildren again. Anyone who has a family understands how devastating this must be for them as it would be for all of us.

These are strong, good people, and starting over at this time in their life will not be easy. They have been hardworking citizens and raised strong, resilient children, so they will find a way.
