The Pump Factory is a community climbing gym in Iloilo, Philippines that began as a small, donation-based warehouse wall built by local climbers. Today, it serves beginners, families, and aspiring athletes, while supporting the Philippine climbing community by providing free training space for national team athletes and sponsoring young competitors. We created this video to highlight some of the special aspects of the space they've created. You can also check out this podcast episode from Rock and Rice where they interview the founder of Pump Factory and here their story.
Climbing holds and hardware must be imported into the Philippines, making them expensive due to shipping and import costs. As a result, The Pump Factory currently faces a shortage of modern holds and bolts. New holds and volumes will help improve route setting, support athlete training, and continue growing the climbing community in Iloilo.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly toward purchasing new climbing holds and equipment for the gym. Climbing communities around the world grow through shared support, mentorship, and access. By supporting The Pump Factory, we are helping ensure that climbers in Iloilo have the resources they need to train, gather, and build a thriving climbing culture for generations to come. Thank you for your support and sharing of this message.
