The mission of the Pet Patrol is to assist low-income individuals with chronic or life-threatening illnesses, such as HIV/AIDS, in caring for and keeping their companion pets to ease loneliness, improve communication, improve physical and cognitive functioning, decrease stress and anxiety, improve body image (animals provide unconditional acceptance), and motivate clients to participate in their recovery, both physical and psychological.

The Pet Patrol provides wellness care for our member clients. Wellness includes an annual veterinary visit for vaccinations and exams, a heartworm test, and monthly heartworm prevention. Monthly food delivery and flea medication are also available when needed. We do not provide emergent care or heartworm treatment for heartworm-positive pets.
