Standing up for our community, our homes, and our future
North Finchley is facing an historic challenge. Developers like Regal London want to impose massive, badly designed tower blocks on our area by demolishing our historic town centre, removing much-loved leisure facilities, and threatening the environment. They will build flats that do little to meet the real housing needs of Londoners.
These proposals risk:
- Losing vital community facilities such as the cinema and bowling alley, replaced with inadequate, tiny alternatives.
- Building the wrong homes in the wrong places — expensive investment flats instead of genuinely affordable, family-friendly places to live, including social and accessible homes.
- Failing to create and support sustainable and inclusive communities.
- Damaging the environment, including threats to Glebelands Nature Reserve, mature trees and the protected Great Crested Newt.
- Ignoring local voices — residents, businesses and community groups have not been properly consulted.
Bad government policies mean that this is happening all over London. North Finchley is one of the communities that is fighting back. We believe regeneration can be done differently.
Our North Finchley is a growing grassroots campaign fighting for:
- Homes that people need, not for developer profits
- More green spaces, cleaner air and a healthier environment
- Real consultation and community-led design
- A vibrant North Finchley where everyone can thrive
Why we need your support
Campaigning costs money. Every leaflet, poster, banner and public meeting takes resources and we’re up against developers with deep pockets and slick PR machines.
Your donation will help us to:
- Print and distribute leaflets and posters to raise awareness locally
- Fund campaign materials to make our voices seen and heard
- Cover the costs of hosting FREE public meetings and events where the community can come together
- Support digital campaigning to spread the word further
