Support the NHS in the fight against COVID19

PPE for NHS personnel
· We are currently making protective face visors and will continue to make them.  So far, we have made close to 750 visors and have spent a total of £500
· We are raising funds in order to buy the materials needed to make more visors. At our current costs, one visor costs approximately £0.85 to make

The UK Government recommends using single face/eye protection/full face visors when working with suspected cases, high-risk areas or when working with suspected patients.

Why we need your help:
This is a virtuous cycle. If our NHS staff use adequate protective gear when seeing potentially infected individuals, the community can rest assured that the NHS themselves remain healthy and there is no undue strain on the healthcare system due to unwell NHS staff members. Moreover, if you or a loved one were to visit emergency, it is in our own best interests to ensure that our healthcare providers remain safe and protected from COVID-19 infection.  Very often, a single patient in intensive care would need 6-7 medical professionals at a time during treatment, so ITUs run through hundreds of these protective visors on a daily basis.

Where it all began:
In response to the request from an anesthesiologist at St Mary's Hospital, London, a group of locals volunteered to coordinate remotely, and, using freely available data and materials, made close to 750 visors.  Because this is an ongoing need, we continue to make visors for other hospitals, including Royal London and Barnet hospitals.
We need many many more.  We are all personally pitching in to make these PPEs that are easy to put together with simple items. Until last week we had been sourcing these items from amazon--Sheets of foam, yards of elastic bands, and acetate sheets.

However, due to the pandemic situation, Amazon Prime deliveries are delayed by as much as a month. Through this GoFundMe, I hope we can raise more funds so that we can continue to procure these items way, way, quicker, and consequently get these much-needed visors to our hospitals a lot sooner.

Who will benefit:
NHS staff at (currently)
1. St Mary's
2. Royal London
3. Royal Free London
4. Whittington Hospital
5. Watford Hospital
