HELP 1000 GRANDMOTHERS SPONSOR A YOUTH ACTIVIST
Tax deductible
As elders and members of 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations, we are excited to join the fundraising efforts of Youth vs. Apocalypse (YvA) to Sponsor a Youth Climate Activist.
Our goal is to raise at least $10,000, the amount YvA needs to. . .
- hire and train a young educator/organizer (age 18-25) to work for a year (400 work hours) in public middle and high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area
- offer interactive climate-crisis education to students when requested by their teachers
- assist in the formation of student climate justice clubs
- accompany students who participate in street actions when appropriate
- build the youth climate justice movement!
1000 Grandmothers are committed to “supporting the leadership of youth in the climate movement”. We are grateful for this opportunity to share our resources to support the next generation of climate activists who are working to protect and preserve a life-sustaining planet for our children and grandchildren. We invite you to join us!
PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR $10,000 GOAL!

For further inspiration, here’s a short video of YvA youth in action at Blackrock headquarters in San Francisco where they were joined by 1000 Grandmothers and others to demand that Blackrock, the world’s largest assets management firm, stop investing in fossil fuels.
This fundraiser is led by the SFCircle of 1000 Grandmothers in collaboration with Youth Vs Apocalypse, and has been endorsed by the 1000 Grandmothers Coordinating Committee. Note that Alliance for Global Justice is the 501(c)3 nonprofit that fiscally sponsors Youth Vs Apocalypse.
