Hi! We’re the Mistrys, and right now our family is in a season that has been both emotionally and financially demanding. We could really use support from our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help raise funds for the adoption of our third child.

We never imagined we would be in a position to ask for help like this, but after exhausting all other funding options, we’re reaching out with humility and hope. In October 2025, we were placed with a birth mother. Then, just three weeks before she was due, she made the decision to parent. While we respect her choice, this was deeply heartbreaking for us, and the past couple of months have been incredibly challenging.

Along with the emotional loss, we also lost much of the money we had saved toward adoption. Unfortunately, it’s common in situations like this—often referred to as an “adoption disruption”—for adoptive families to recoup very little, if anything at all. Because of that, we are now starting again with less than half of what we need to pursue another adoption opportunity.

Any gift, no matter the amount, will help us move forward. Funds raised will go toward:

Adoption agency fees

Birth mother expenses (which can vary widely, often between $10,000–$20,000)

Legal fees required to finalize the adoption
