Support the McGuane family through this diffcult time

On February 22nd, Kristy received the devastating news that no one ever wants to hear – her husband, Fred, was involved in a serious motorbike accident. Fred was rushed to the Alfred Hospital in critical condition, where he was immediately placed into a medically induced coma. At the time, Kristy had little information, and her world turned upside down.

Fred underwent immediate surgery to relieve swelling and bleeding on his brain, and surgeons also repaired fractures in his right arm. Tragically, Fred suffered severe injuries, including shattered ribs on both sides, which pierced his lungs and liver. His right lung was completely collapsed. Fred is booked for additional surgery to repair his ribs as they wont heel themselves. Fred remains in a critical but stable condition. Recovery is expected to take months to over a year.

Kristy is doing everything she can to be by Fred’s side while also caring for their primary-aged child, trying to juggle the emotional and physical strain of this unimaginable situation. With Fred's long recovery ahead, we want to make sure that Kristy doesn’t have to worry about bills, rent, and other financial burdens. This will allow her to focus on supporting Fred and their child during this difficult time.
