Support the McCoy's Mission to Build a Home for a Family

Family and Friends,

My daughter Jane and I are traveling to Tijuana, Mexico, to build a home for a family in need with a group of volunteers. The house will be built in conjunction with a Non-Profit Organization known as Youth with A Mission – San Diego. Youth with A Mission selects families to receive homes based upon extreme need. Most of the families have at least three children and an income of around $80 a week. The homes we end up building are sturdy shelters with windows, a front door, and a solid foundation. They replace small makeshift shelters made with pallets, odd pieces of wood, and plastic tarps usually over dirt floors.

Our team will work alongside qualified builders from Youth with A Mission and along with the needy family who is receiving the home. We will hammer, hang drywall, paint, take the family shopping, etc., and complete the project in two days. Upon completion of the home, we will have a dedication ceremony and present the family with the keys to their new home. The cost of the home, furnishings, volunteer expenses, etc., is approximately $25,000.

Jane and I have provided approximately $3,000 upfront to join the group for the build. Please consider partnering with us by providing a charitable donation or offering your support through prayers. Because we donated directly upfront, this is non-tax deductible and will cover our costs associated with the trip.
