To know the Malanga family is to know true angels on earth. Brendan, Casey, James, and Gabby are the kindest, most generous, most loving people who have given to so many for so long. It is now our turn to give back to them at this excruciatingly difficult time. The Malangas need our help as they grapple with the unthinkable. After 12 years of fighting ferociously and bravely, Casey's battle with cancer is nearing an end. First diagnosed in June of 2010, Casey endured years of treatments and fought long and hard but always with the most beautiful smile on her face.
She has been so strong for her beautiful children, Gabby and James. In November 2012, Brendan and Casey met their first angel, James. From the moment Casey held him in her arms, she and Brendan knew he was exactly where he belonged. Three years later, Gabby came along and made this beautiful family complete. Throughout this time, Casey's prognosis remained good. Around Gabby's third birthday, the family received the devastating news that Casey's cancer had returned. With aggressive treatment and countless trials, Casey was able to fight back the cancer with superhuman strength. She continued to push through and try new treatments, request trials, and ask about radiation as every minute with her two little angels is a gift to both Casey and Brendan. In September of this year, Casey learned that the cancer had spread to her brain. Her doctors immediately began a course of radiation but everything had taken an extreme toll on Casey's body and she suffered a massive seizure. Unfortunately, Casey was out of treatments and suffering tremendously, so she and Brendan made the agonizing decision to end their fight.
Casey is currently in hospice care, peacefully surrounded by Brendan, James, Gabby, her family, and all who love her. It is our turn to give back to this beautiful family and these four incredible human beings who have given so much to so many. Please consider helping Brendan, James, and Gabby as they navigate the unthinkable. The funds are being collected by the Glover PTO on behalf of the Malanga Family.
