League of Women Voters Alameda’s Youth Council is planning to travel to the capitol in order to get in contact with different congressional representatives as a means of encouraging civic engagement within youth in large-scale politics as well as demonstrating a physical representation of the impact of local politics and civic organizations. Upon entering Washington DC, we plan to interview officials from the House of Representatives and the Senate, capitalizing on the midterm elections, as a means of gathering information from high-ranking officials about general political systems and how young people can become involved in politics.

Our fundraising goal is $4,500. LWVA Youth Council would really appreciate any possible contributions.
