The Long family is experiencing a sudden and unexpected time of difficulty and grief. Arron Long has fought his entire life with Cerebral Palsy. He is the toughest kid we've known but ultimately has succumbed to illness. After being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia, Arron was sent home under hospice care. After a weeks-long battle, surrounded by loved ones, Arron passed away on the evening of Wednesday, July 31st. Services have been scheduled for August 17th at Stewart-Baxter funeral home in Cedar Rapids.

Arron's mother, Megan, works in the medical field and his dad, Jacob, has served more than a decade in the military, including two deployments. They are both avid supporters of Saint Jude, leading multiple fundraisers to help children receive the best medical care available. Arron's sister, Adelynn, just turned twelve and has spent her life adoring her big brother.
