Help us rebuild in Petersville District, Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa
On October 28th, 2025, Hurricane Melissa—a historic Category 5 storm—devastated parts of Jamaica, leaving thousands without homes, power, and basic necessities. Among those affected are the Linton family in Petersville District, Westmoreland, who have suffered severe damage to their home and loss of essential belongings.
We are raising funds to help them rebuild their home, replace lost items, and support their community as they recover from this unprecedented disaster.
This is a close-knit farming village where everyone helps one another, but today they are struggling to start again. Roads are blocked by fallen trees, boulders, and power lines. Electricity and running water are gone, and local food markets that once supplied our families are now in ruins. Government help will be very slow to reach small rural areas like ours, so we are asking for the world’s compassion.
Your generosity—whether through giving, praying, or sharing—means more than words can express. Each donation and prayer, no matter how small, helps restore families, rebuild homes, and remind our village that they will NOT be forgotten.
All funds will be collected by Renee and Ornick Linton, who will directly transfer the donations to Clifton Linton in Jamaica to ensure the money reaches those most in need as quickly and safely as possible. Every contribution—no matter the amount—makes a real difference in helping this family and their neighbors get back on their feet.
Your support will go toward:
Emergency supplies (food, water, and clothing)
Home repairs and rebuilding materials
Community relief efforts in the hardest-hit areas
Road repairs for restoring transport to local lanes in the hills
Ornick will be traveling down in December to be boots on the ground to help rebuild with the supplies we are able to provide with this fund.
We are holding on to faith and gratitude. Even in the middle of this devastation, we thank God our family is alive and well. We believe He will provide through the hearts and hands of others while we remain resolved to be strong and work hard to restore the community.
Please consider donating and sharing this page with others who may want to help.
Together, we can bring hope and recovery to those affected by Hurricane Melissa. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Petersville, for lifting up our family and neighbors, and for believing that together—through faith, love, and the kindness of others—we will rise again.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Renee & Ornick and the Linton Family
One love!
