Last year, through your generosity, we successfully launched The Light Diabetes Organisation (TLDO) in Ibusa, Delta State, Nigeria. That support enabled us to bring hope, awareness, and care to our community—and today, we are asking you once again to stand with us.

Our Story So Far

Diabetes is on the rise in Nigeria, yet many people in rural and underserved communities remain undiagnosed until serious complications set in. Since our launch, TLDO has been committed to bridging this gap by providing awareness, screening, and ongoing support for people living with and at risk of diabetes.

In the past year, thanks to your support, we have:

Organised quarterly Diabetes Awareness Days in Ibusa and neighbouring communities, reaching hundreds of individuals with free screening and education.

Provided counselling and support for patients already living with diabetes, helping them better manage their health.

Distributed information and resources to combat cultural misconceptions that often delay diagnosis and care.

Partnered with local health workers to build sustainable community-level action against diabetes.

Your support has truly made a difference—but the work is far from done.

Why We Need Your Help Again

This November, we will mark World Diabetes Day with a major community awareness event in Ibusa, reaching even more families with life-saving education, free screenings, and support. Beyond this, we want to continue running our quarterly outreach programmes, providing ongoing care and hope for people living with diabetes.

To achieve this, we urgently need your support to cover:

Free diabetes screenings and test kits

Free Eye screening and free eyeglasses

Educational materials for community awareness

Medications and supplies such as insulin for underserved patients

Logistics for quarterly outreach programmes

Diabetes prevention programmes such as weekly Diet & Exercise Workshops to empower people with practical lifestyle changes that lower the risk of diabetes

World Diabetes Day (14th Nov. 2025) event activities in Ibusa

How Your Donation Helps

Every contribution counts. Here’s how your gift can make a difference:

£20 ($25) → Provides 5 people with free diabetes screening

£50 ($65) → Funds community education for 30 families

£100 ($130) → Supports medication and follow-up care for 10 patients

£250 ($325) → Helps us organise a full community outreach day with screening and education

£500+ ($650+) → Becomes a major sponsor of World Diabetes Day activities, directly impacting hundreds of lives

Join Us in Saving Lives

Your donation—no matter the size—goes directly into saving lives and preventing needless suffering. Together, we can ensure that more people are screened early, educated on prevention, and supported in their journey with diabetes.

We also invite you to share this campaign widely with your network so we can reach as many people as possible.

We will be sharing images and videos from our previous and upcoming events, so you can see firsthand the impact of your support.

Please donate today and help us continue to bring light, hope, and healing to communities at risk of diabetes.
