Hello, my name is Anahi Leyva.

I'm getting on here to share my family's story of what happened to us on Sunday, December 1st, 2024. We had left home around 5 pm to have a friendly Sunday dinner with some family friends. We were enjoying our dinner. As we started finishing up eating, we began getting phone calls and messages from multiple family members saying, "Your house is on fire." I didn't believe it until my dad received a phone call from one of my uncles saying, "Where are the kids? Get here as soon as possible." We paid and left the restaurant.

As we got home, we saw so many firefighters putting out the fire. My family and I were just standing there, looking at our home with such dullness in our eyes. Hearing my 5-year-old brother say, "No, my house is gone. I loved my pretty house," and seeing my other siblings listing everything they had just lost was heartbreaking. In this great time of loss for our family, I ask for help to gather some essentials and necessities for me and my family.
