We're launching the Houston Liberation Center and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The Houston Liberation Center (HLC) is a volunteer-run socialist community center and bookstore serving the working class and oppressed communities of Houston. As a hub for education, organizing, and culture, the HLC brings together people from across the city to struggle collectively around the critical issues we face in our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods. We believe that by building power from the bottom up, we can win a society that truly meets the needs of our people!

On Saturday, June 6th, we're hosting the GRAND OPENING of the HLC featuring local vendors, live music, and kid-friendly activities! Beyond the grand opening, our volunteers are hard at work developing programming for the community (almost always free or donation-based) including political education workshops, organizing meetings, supply drives, film screenings, art shows, performances, and more. The vision is ambitious, but Houston's working class deserves a home to build a better future.

But, to make this a reality, we need your support. The HLC has no outside funding—it's maintained exclusively through the financial contributions and physical labor of our volunteers. Over the past many months, our working class volunteers have been hard at work making many necessary repairs and renovations to better serve our people. But this has quickly added up. Your donation will both help make our initial launch a success, but will also allow us to carry forward our work through the end of the year.
