Hi, my name is Aaron, founder of the Harvest Pantry Group, a newly formed grassroots Nonprofit charity serving the Nottingham community. We are fundraising to launch our two service divisions, Freda's Pantry and Harvest Hope.
Freda’s Pantry will be a mobile community food bank, named after my Nan, Elfreda Baker. Her working life as a domestic worker at the City Hospital -
cleaning, serving and doing the food round brought her immeasurable joy - just like outside of work where she lived to serve others. She was often seen around the streets of Clifton delivering pots of hot food to neighbours and her kitchen pantry was always an open invitation to anyone passing by. You couldn’t leave her presence without being fully nourished-mind, body and soul.
Carrying her legacy forward and with the heartbreaking awareness that there are families right now struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads, we are launching Freda’s Pantry to stand in the gap. This service will help fight food insecurity by providing emergency food support, dignity-led pantry services and crisis relief for local families in need.
Harvest Hope is our labour-of-love outreach division. Our city centre streets and surrounding areas are filled with individuals facing real hardship, trauma and crisis. We truly believe that the stigma around homelessness-how, why, or what people are going through-acts as a barrier to the compassion and support they deserve.
Our aim is to challenge that stigma, raise social awareness and most importantly, deliver meals, essentials, signposting and direct support to people on the streets in their time of need.
To embark on our mission, we need the support of our community. We’re asking for one-off donations and monthly partners who are willing to stand in the gap with us. Your donations will give us the resources to:
Purchase essential equipment, fuel and logistics to run both the mobile pantry and street outreach safely;
Stock Freda’s Pantry with emergency food packages and hygiene essentials;
Train and safeguard our volunteers, ensuring we deliver support responsibly and with dignity;
Cover essential insurance and operational costs needed for launch and ongoing delivery;
Create branded materials and safety resources for both divisions as we begin serving the community.
Every donation - whether one-off or monthly -will be treated as a blessing, handled with complete transparency and used solely to further our mission.
Thank you,
Aaron
