The Kalamazoo Violin Choir (KVC) is a vibrant group of young violinists, ages 6 to 15, representing diverse backgrounds from across our community. Our mission is to connect young violinists to their communities through innovative repertoire and storytelling, bringing a new tone and color to live music performances for young people. We believe music can comfort, change, create, connect, and celebrate! We strive to foster a deeper connection between live music and society, using the power of music to inspire and uplift!
One of our most cherished traditions is using a Crankie box, featuring original illustrations, to tell stories alongside our music. This creative approach has been greatly appreciated by our audiences and has helped us build meaningful connections at every performance. Our members have grown not only as musicians but also as storytellers and community leaders, sharing their skills and passion with others!
Why We Need Your Help
As we celebrate our first 1.5 years, we are launching this fundraiser to ensure that every child—regardless of financial background—has the tools they need to succeed. Your support will go directly toward:
Essential Gear: High-quality strings, rosin, shoulder rests, and tuners.
Instrument Equity: Building an inventory of bows and violins for students who cannot afford their own.
Accessibility Initiatives: Supporting the creation of Braille program notes to ensure our performances are inclusive for all audience members.
Administrative & Educational Efforts: Supporting the specialized curriculum development, event coordination, and logistics required to bring our multidisciplinary programs to life.
