Jason James was a warm, generous man, liked by all who knew him. His sudden passing at the age of 46 has brought sadness to many in the Vernon area and beyond. He leaves behind his two sons, Milo (13) and Mark (16), who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his brother Scott, his mother Sharon, step-father Dennis and his friend and co-parent, Lindsay, who must now raise the boys on her own.
I knew Jason from our years of sitting together in bleachers watching basketball, as well as countless amounts of carpooling, play dates and sleepovers. Jason was always willing to help me (or anyone, for that matter) and I will miss his kindness and good company. He was highly-valued at his job for his great work ethic, and he was known by many to give the best damn hugs in Canada.
Jason’s life revolved around his boys, Mark and Milo. He showed up to every event, every basketball game, every birthday party. He was there when Lindsay or the boys needed anything — driving to tournaments, dump runs, fundraising or even dog-sitting her new puppy, Winston - who quickly became Jason’s puppy too!
This go-fund me is to provide financial support to Mark, Milo and Lindsay as they reconfigure their lives without Jason. It will be used to help cover basic living costs as well as additional costs like sports fees, summer camps and education expenses. I know they will all be beyond grateful for any help we can offer them. ❤️
