Bringing Our Neighborhood Back Together: A Community Effort for the Highlands
The Highlands has always been more than just a neighborhood, it’s a community. It’s where we watch our children play, where we shared summer afternoons by the pool, and where we built friendships on the trails and at the clubhouse. But recently, we’ve all felt the strain. Between the discussions on proposed amendments and the challenges our HOA has faced, it’s easy to feel like we’re more divided than united.
Yet, at our core, we all want the same thing: a neighborhood we’re proud to call home. A place where families can cool off in the pool as the Florida heat rises, where we can safely enjoy our beautiful trails, and where the clubhouse once again becomes a gathering space for celebrations and connection. Right now, these amenities need our help.
The good news? We can do something about it - together.
I've launched a community-driven fundraiser to support the Highlands HOA in restoring and maintaining the amenities that make our neighborhood special. Legally, in Florida, homeowners can come together to contribute, and if we each pitch in what we can, we can make a real impact. This isn’t about mandates or rules—it’s about neighbors supporting neighbors to preserve the spaces that bring us joy.
We all recognize that recent HOA discussions have been challenging. But this fundraiser isn’t about what divides us—it’s about what unites us. It’s about ensuring that when summer arrives, we can dive into a well-maintained pool, walk the trails without worry, and come together in a clubhouse that’s ready to welcome us.
If we all contribute, even just a little, we can make this happen. Let’s restore what we love about the Highlands—not through debate, but through action.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Are you in?
