Hi Friends and Family!
If you know our family, you know that we have been open to bringing a child into our home if a need arose. Some of you know the loss our family experienced in the last month. We certainly did not expect another door to open, especially while grief is so fresh.
Last week, a friend of ours met a woman in Colorado while on vacation. Our friend spent several hours with her and listened to her story. The woman is pregnant and expressed to our friend that she wants to give her baby up for adoption. There are not local adoption agencies available where she resides, therefore she was at a loss on how to move forward to keep the baby out of foster care. She wants the baby to immediately go to the adoptive family because she understands the importance of initial bonding.
We were contacted about the situation and asked if we were interested in adopting this child. Over the last several days, we have visited with the mother and prayed about the situation. Although there are many fears and unknowns, we believe our hands should remain in an open posture to receive this child.
The mother is 36 weeks pregnant, however is experiencing hypertension, therefore she will be induced within the next week. We have many legal and financial obstacles to overcome in a very
short time frame. We are in need of at least $6,500.00 immediately to be able to bring the baby back to Oklahoma. These fees take care of the birth mother bills, legal paperwork for termination of parental rights, state boundary laws and a home study. On top of the adoption fees, Becca must remain in Colorado until the Interstate Compact of Placement is approved (1-2 weeks) and the final step would be Post Placement and final approval of the adoption in Oklahoma.
If you feel led to help us meet this goal within the next week, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. If, for whatever reason, the adoption is not granted, we will refund your gift as soon as possible.
