On behalf of Ellen and her boys, we’ve been given permission (with some reluctance) to create this GoFundMe page for the Hanley family, following the shocking and traumatic stabbing of second eldest son, Jayden. I worked with Ellen for 4 years and we instantly became friends due to her kind and caring nature.

Jayden was caught in the heartbreaking circumstance of simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was violently stabbed in the stomach — the blade narrowly missing vital organs but still caused serious damage to his liver and stomach. So far, Jayden has undergone three surgeries in an effort to repair the harm done, with another operation scheduled later this week.

In the wake of this tragedy, Ellen and the family have already spent hundreds of dollars on hospital-related costs alone. Ellen is a single mother who works incredibly hard as a disability support worker. Unfortunately, her job does not provide sick leave or special allowances for emergencies like this.

Ellen isn’t asking for much — just enough to help cover some of the mounting everyday expenses such as groceries, power, and rent. She is a devoted mum to her four boys, a loving daughter-in-law, and a proud grandmother.
