Hi, my name is Rachel Godwin. On January 22, 2026, my father’s home was turned upside down the house caught fire, and he lost everything. it is a triplex home that he rents so other people lived in the building as well.

In a matter of minutes, the home my dad worked so hard for was gone. We lost all of our clothes, furniture, electronics, bikes, and personal belongings—everything that made that house our home. My dad worked so hard not just for himself, but to make sure I had a place to live, and seeing it all taken from him and the other families has been heartbreaking.

My dad also suffered burns that have since turned into large blisters, and another individual was injured as well. Thankfully, no one lost their life, and all injuries were considered minor—but the physical and emotional impact is been overwhelming.

We are now trying to rebuild from nothing. The funds raised will go directly toward:

• Temporary housing

• Replacing essential clothing and household items

• work supplies

• Helping our family get back on our feet
