Help Carly, Patrick, Baby Owen, and Baby Caleb
On October 13 Carly and Patrick's second son Caleb Michael was born about 6 weeks earlier than expected. What was expected, however, was that Caleb has a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Caleb's left side of his heart and aorta is underdeveloped and too small. Because of that, his heart cannot pump blood properly to the rest of the body. Hypoplastic left heart is considered a critical congenital heart defect and occurs in about 1,000 babies a year in the United States. Caleb was taken from where Carly delivered, almost immediately, into the care of cardiologists at Children's Hospital.
Because of the severity of this syndrome Caleb, in the coming days, will need the first of a series of roughly 3 to 4 heart surgeries. He will likely spend months in the NICU and Carly and Patrick will be spending most of that time in the NICU by his side.
This fundraiser is to help Support the Fritz Family and the financial burden of the medical bills, the financial burden of childcare for Owen while they are splitting time, to help support them for the time from work that will be missed, for lunches, for hospital parking, for their bills and any other financial difficulties they are going to deal with over the next several months.
Carly and Patrick were born to be parents. The love they have for Baby Owen and the love they had instantly for a baby they wouldn't give up on is unmatched. Please consider donating to my sister's family, any support for them would mean so much.
