My name is Mario Lara. I'm a Belizean-American in support of the legal action brought against the Government of Belize (GOB) by a group of patriotic citizens to compel the government to comply with the Constitution of Belize and ensure that the electoral divisions have equal portions of the voting population.
The issue of redistricting has been ignored for far too long and there are talks of having yet another election without the issue being properly resolved. If you believe in democracy and rule of law, please support the efforts to hold the GOB accountable to uphold the Constitution of Belize.
I will be doing this GoFundMe fundraiser in close collaboration and coordination with Jeremy Enriquez, one of the patriotic citizens and parties to the lawsuit brought against GOB. I am also doing this in collaboration with Wil Maheia, another well-known patriotic Belizean with whom I've collaborated in the past.
I am appealing to all Belizeans abroad to give generously to this worthy cause and contribute to the protection of democracy in Belize. Thank you!
