Support the Fangman Family’s Recovery After House Fire

Donation protected
My confidant, my fillip, my father — Mr. Fangman — is currently in the hospital for second-degree burns on his legs after miraculously surviving a devastating house fire. Luckily, he escaped and is still his same optimistic, joke-loving, ornery self; however, the road to recovery is a long one. It is unclear at this time when he will be released from the hospital’s burn unit. There is a high possibility of him needing skin grafts as well, though that again is unclear at this time.

I am asking for donations in order to attain financial assistance in his physical and mental health treatment after such a traumatic event, his housing and long-term caretaking expenses, and also for myself as working and going to school at the University of Toledo full-time will be a challenge now that I am undertaking care of my dad and handling all the labors, both known and unknown, that come along with this experience.

The fire destroyed decades of memories and his safe place he called home, but it could never destroy the Fangman spirit. My dad is a man who dedicated his life to working hard and helping others; he’s also a man of pride and rarely asks others for help, but this challenge is one we cannot face alone and help of any kind is greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate monetarily, please consider sharing this with others or even just keeping my dad, my sister, and me in your thoughts as we face these trials and tribulations together.

Once again, the funds raised will go directly to:
  • Covering medical bills and rehabilitation costs not covered by insurance
  • Securing temporary housing and eventually a new safe place for him to call home
  • Replacing essential items lost in the fire
  • Supplementing income as I am unable to work as much as I did to support myself while also supporting my dad

Words cannot express how lucky we are that he is still alive and that the fire was not any worse, but it is still a Herculean task we have on our hands and hopefully with the support of our community, our load will become lighter and our days will get brighter.

With peace, love, and gratitude,
