January 25th, 2023, I received what has been the most heartbreaking, life-altering news of the unexpected passing of my younger brother, Mateo Hernandez.

The life of my brother was unrightfully taken by cruel actions that we will never understand. Mateo is survived by his wife, Erika, and three beautiful children, Jose Miguel 8, Junior 5, & Jimena 3. Mateo was the most caring and loving husband, father, brother, and friend. This sudden loss has brought us all emotional pain, confusion, and sadness. Words will never be able to express how missed Mateo will be.

As our family continues to grieve Mateo and help his family through this difficult time, I have created this fundraiser to provide support for Erika and her three children for the long journey that lies ahead. As Mateo was the primary provider for his family, any funds raised will go towards the children’s schooling, medical expenses, and any unforeseen expenses. Donations of any amount are appreciated!
