Support the families of San Juan La Laguna
Donation protected
Welcome! This page supports two projects to improve the future of the San Juan La Laguna and Aldea Panyebar community in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Many families in the community struggle to survive due to limited opportunities for work.
We support the community through two projects.
- El Jardin de Mujeres: Providing supplies and training to grow vegetable gardens that sustain basic needs and increase financial opportunity in the community through the production of food.
- La Educación de Niños: we are launching a new project to support the future of the community by giving boys and girls (6-13 years old) an opportunity to attend school by covering required fees and supplies.
- We started this project in 2020 when COVID intensified the challenges in the region. Since then, these projects have helped over 800 families to survive and thrive.
- In 2025, we are continuing to support both projects and expanding support on the education side by helping to provide materials and improvements to the school.
This project is organized by Grupo de Mujeres Integral.
- The team is a group of 65 women from the Panyebar community in San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala.
- The project is being led by Eligio Abraham Cholotio Mendoza, a resident and Spanish teacher in the San Juan La Laguna community.
- This fundraiser is owned by Trish, a current student and friend of Eligio who used to live in San Juan La Laguna, and is supporting the project and helping with all English communication.
We are excited to send updates and photos to donors, and thank you for your generosity!
