In Memory of Steven Etheridge (AKA 2 Canoes)

It is with deep sadness and disbelief that we share the news of the passing of Steven Ethridge, known to many as "2 Canoes," on Australia Day. His loss has left a profound impact on everyone who knew him, from close colleagues to those who crossed paths with him briefly.

Steve began his journey in the belt splicing industry at a young age, and with over 20 years of experience, he quickly became a true professional in his field. His expertise, dedication, and friendly demeanor earned him the respect and admiration of many, making him a beloved figure in the splicing industry. It's no exaggeration to say that Steve was a legend in his own right.

In 2017, Steve joined the Cloudbreak team in the conveyor maintenance division, before moving to Ironbridge in 2023 to take on new challenges. His knowledge and experience played a vital role in the construction and development of the Ironbridge conveyor team. Steve was always willing to lend a hand, offering support to his colleagues with a signature cheeky grin. His contributions will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Steve leaves behind his loving wife and three young children. In light of this devastating loss, we are reaching out to the mining community for support to help ease the financial burden on his family during this difficult time. Any contributions, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and go a long way in providing support to those Steve held dear.

Rest in peace, Steve. We hope there are plenty of belts to splice up there, brother.
