Our family home had caught fire on August 9, 2025. The reason for it all is still unknown. We are just now creating a GoFundMe because we are still trying to process and figure things out while grieving. Never in a million years would we have thought something this tragic would happen. We had an early start on that Saturday morning with Isaac’s 9am practice. Afterwards we decided to grab lunch and return home. It was around 5 when we finally got home & we sent Isaac upstairs to take a nap. During that time, Edgar Luna & I stepped outside for approximately 10 min when we noticed smoke coming from the back of our home. Instantly we thought about my son napping upstairs. As my husband ran through the back door to rescue him, Isaac had just crawled out through the front door to escape. While everyone is safe, the fire took our belongings, memories, and our home. I’ve had a couple people that mentioned making this GoFundMe but we’ve never been the people to ask for help. Many of you want to help but don’t know how, we created this for the loving and caring people that do. Thank you for kindness and support during this difficult time.
- We are so grateful that my 7 year old son remembered being taught on what to do during a house fire. The smoke filled his room & he woke up thinking he had a dream of him choking. He said he remembered crawling to his little sister Luna’s room to look for her! As he yelled out for her, he said she never responded. Then after, he said he sat at the top of the stairs calling out for us. He then realized he needed to escape, so he held his breath & laid down to slide down the stairs underneath the smoke. That’s when he crawled to the door to make his exit.
- We would love to encourage everyone to educate their children on house fires. We never thought this would hit so close to home but I’m so glad my son was taught what to do in a situation like this. Regardless of any situation that you go through, keep pushing through and know that it will get better. Just have faith and hope
