UPDATE 4-10-2026
First, I want to say that Kaina and Summer are in good spirits considering what they are going through and is still processing everything. Feeling overwhelmed by the love and support they are receiving from everyone around, the are extremely thankful and are not understanding how you all are so giving. I keep reminding them that they are good people and it’s a no brainer to come together to help.
With that said, On behalf of the Ellis Ohana, I can’t thank everyone enough for your generous support. Your kindness means the world to the Ellis Ohana as they navigate this challenging time after losing their home and vehicles. Knowing that they have an amazing village who will do anything to support them gives them hope for rebuilding what they’ve lost. A huge MAHALO to all of you for being part of this journey with them.
On Thursday, April 9, 2026 at approximately 3 in the morning, a fire destroyed a family home of my very dear friend and her family, The Ellis Ohana in Waimanalo. By the grace of GOD, they all got out safe, along with my fur grandbabies and that is the most important thing. I wanted to create this gofundme for them because if you know them, you know that they (every member of the family) will be the first to give their shirts off their back, last piece of bread from the loaf, last penny in their account to help anyone and no expect anything in return. Now, they need everyone’s help to rebuild their generational family home. For
the Ellis Ohana, this was their home for so many years and many call it the gathering place for their family and friends, who they call family. Not only did they lose their home, they also lost all 4 of their vehicles.
They will NEVER ask for help, nor will they take anything that is handed to them but this gofundme will force them to accept the help they deserve, even if it’s just a prayer
Mahalo in advance for all your help!
Love you Kaina, Summer, Aunty Janice, Hali’a, Puni, Kila, Paco and Bruno!
