On September 6, 2024, my world changed forever when I lost my 34-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Marie Torres. She was found in a tent, alone and without the help she desperately needed. As a mother, I reached out for support, but no one was there for us. Elizabeth left behind three beautiful children and a family who loves and misses her every day. The pain of losing her, and the lack of support we received, inspired me to take action so that no other family has to feel as alone as we did.
In Elizabeth’s memory, I started The Elizabeth Project to serve Chula Vista’s unsheltered community. We are dedicated to providing food, shelter, and support to those in need, with meals and outreach events throughout the year—not just during the holidays. Your contribution will help us offer meals, warm clothing, and essential services to people who are struggling. With a proven track record of helping individuals find proper shelters, detox programs, and aftercare, The Elizabeth Project is committed to continuing this vital work and bringing hope to those who need it most.
To the families out there struggling to help a loved one, you are not alone. I have been where you are, and I know how heartbreaking and exhausting it can be. Through The Elizabeth Project, I am committed to sharing what I have learned and helping you find the support and resources your family needs. Please join me in making a difference—every dollar counts, and together we can bring hope to those who need it most. Thank you for your support. #TheElizabethProject
