What was supposed to be a joyful and relaxing getaway for the Dervis family has turned into a life-altering crisis.

Greg, Bonnie, and their two children—Cole, a recent high school graduate, and 7-year-old Morgan—traveled to the Dominican Republic with friends to celebrate Cole’s graduation. But shortly after their arrival, Greg began feeling unwell. Initially, they thought it was just the effects of sun or food—but things took a serious turn.

Greg was rushed to the ER, where a CT scan revealed a bleeding cyst on his brain. He was admitted to the ICU, and when medication failed to stop the swelling and bleeding, doctors determined emergency brain surgery was necessary. He was transferred to another hospital, and the surgery was performed in the middle of the night. It was successful—doctors discovered it was a blood clot—but Greg now faces a long and uncertain 6-week recovery in a foreign country.

The Dervis family is now dealing with the emotional and financial toll of this unexpected medical emergency. They urgently need help covering:
