Urgent Housing Need

To know the Dammes is to love them! Travis and Jessica, along with their eight beautiful kids (including one due in November), have been an invaluable part of our community here at the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) for the better part of two decades.

Travis has faithfully served as a drummer and sound tech on worship teams for nearly twenty years, while also teaching classes at the International House of Prayer University's worship school, overseeing the drum curriculum, and giving individual drum instruction to students. Travis would accurately be described as a "pillar" here on our missions base. His service to the community, however, extends beyond his roles within IHOPKC as a ministry.

As a police chaplain, Travis regularly interfaces with local law enforcement and rescue teams, who respond tirelessly to the needs of our city, often on the worst day of a person's life. In doing this, he helps support the "pastoral infrastructure" of the city in critically important ways.

Jessica has also served as an intercessory missionary on the Night Watch (where she met Travis) and sound tech here at the house of prayer, but for the past several years she has taken on the full-time role and responsibility of being a stay-at-home mom, working to homeschool and raise their seven (soon to be eight) kids.

There is so much more that could be said about the Dammes. Truly, any community on the planet would be privileged to have this family be a part of it, and we get to have them here as part of ours!

However, they recently received the news that they need to be out of their rental by November 1st.

Despite picking up extra work where they can find it and being exemplary at living within their means, the current housing market along with their current income as missionaries, has left them with few good options.

They have invested into our spiritual family here at IHOPKC and the community at large in ways that are truly invaluable, but beyond the value of what they have given, they are a family that is deeply loved.

And we wanted to do something to show them how much they are loved!
