Asakivle, un collectif musical et culturel basé à Gonaïves en Haïti, organisé par Franck Désir, se lance dans un projet ambitieux de construction d’un centre culturel près de Gonaïves.

Ce centre ne sera pas qu’un espace physique ; il sera un sanctuaire de créativité, d’éducation et de soutien pour des communautés profondément affectées par les conflits civils et la pauvreté.

Pourquoi ce Centre est Important

Haïti a traversé des décennies de conflits civils, de pauvreté extrême et d’inflation, laissant de nombreuses communautés vulnérables et privées de ressources essentielles.

Face à ces défis, le centre culturel sera un phare d’espoir, offrant un environnement sûr et stimulant où les personnes de tout âge pourront :

Avancements Actuels

Un terrain pour le centre a déjà été généreusement offert, marquant une étape significative. Nous passons maintenant à une phase de développement cruciale :

Construction d’un Puits d’Eau Douce avec Panneaux Solaires et Pompe

Objectif : L’accès à de l’eau potable est fondamental. Ce puits assurera une source d’eau fiable et durable pour le centre et la communauté environnante.

Coût estimé : 11 000,00 $

Construction d’un Mur Périmétrique

Objectif : Assurer la sécurité de tous est une priorité. Ce mur offrira une délimitation claire et protégera les infrastructures et les personnes du centre.

Coût estimé : 15 000,00 $

TOTAL : 26 000,00 $

Ces projets initiaux définiront les limites du centre et fourniront des ressources essentielles pour son fonctionnement futur. Notre objectif est de terminer cette phase d’ici août 2025 !

Qui Sommes-Nous

ASAKIVLE est un collectif dynamique de musiciens et d’artistes, né en Haïti et désormais actif à l’international, partageant la richesse des traditions musicales haïtiennes avec le monde. Aujourd’hui, ASAKIVLE est une initiative essentielle dédiée à la célébration et à la préservation des rythmes et des thèmes traditionnels d’Haïti, servant de véritable archive vivante pour protéger et transmettre notre patrimoine culturel face aux menaces d’érosion culturelle.

Franck Desire, l’un des fondateurs du mouvement, est un musicien et éducateur haïtien engagé depuis toujours dans la préservation culturelle. Il a travaillé comme spécialiste de l’engagement communautaire à Miami, en Floride, aidant les enfants et familles haïtiens à s’intégrer dans le système scolaire américain.

En 1994, Franck a cofondé Exchange of Hope, un programme d’échange culturel reliant des étudiants de villes telles que Buffalo et Port-au-Prince. Il dirige également la troupe de danse et de percussions haïtiennes d’ASAKIVLE, qui joue de la musique Racine traditionnelle et sensibilise le public au Vodou dans des écoles, universités et événements culturels à travers le monde.

Le travail de Franck s’étend à la consultation en culture haïtienne et à la participation à des expositions prestigieuses comme Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou, présentées dans des grandes villes aux États-Unis, en Europe et en Asie.

The land for the center has already been generously donated, marking a significant step forward.

Now, we are moving into the critical development phase:

Building a Freshwater Well with Solar Pannels and a Pump

Purpose: Access to clean water is fundamental. The well will ensure a reliable and sustainable water source within the center’s grounds, benefiting both the center and the surrounding community.

Estimated Cost: 11,000.00$

Constructing a Perimeter Wall

Purpose: Ensuring the safety and security of everyone involved is a top priority. The wall will provide a defined boundary and protect the center’s infrastructure and people.

These initial projects will define the center’s grounds and provide essential resources for its future operations. Our goal is to complete this phase by August 2025!

Future Vision

The center’s long-term plans include the construction of:

Beyond providing a cultural hub, the construction and development process will create much-needed employment opportunities for local men and women, offering fair wages and contributing to economic stability in the region. Who We Are

ASAKIVLE is a dynamic collective of musicians and artists that began as an ensemble in Haiti and has since expanded its reach internationally, sharing the richness of Haitian musical traditions with the world. Today, ASAKIVLE is a vital initiative dedicated to celebrating and preserving Haiti’s traditional rhythms and themes, serving as a living archive to protect and transmit our cultural heritage against the ongoing threats of cultural erosion.

Franck Desire, one of the movement’s founders, is a Haitian musician and educator with a lifelong commitment to cultural preservation. While working as a Community Involvement Specialist in Miami, FL, he supported Haitian children and families in integrating into the American school system.

In 1994, Franck co-founded Exchange of Hope, a cultural exchange program that connects students from cities such as Buffalo and Port-au-Prince. He also leads ASAKIVLE’s Haitian dance and drumming troupe, which performs traditional Racine music and educates audiences about Vodou in schools, universities, and cultural events worldwide.

Franck’s work extends to consulting on Haitian culture and participating in prominent exhibitions like the Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou, showcased in major cities across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
