Hello, my name is Natalie, and I created this account to support Mama Prossy and The Children’s Benevolence Foundation, as she is unable to set one up from Uganda.
I had the privilege of meeting Mama Prossy and visiting the incredible children in her care. Seeing firsthand the love, dedication, and commitment she brings to these children was truly inspiring. Because of her, these children are thriving in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. She stepped in when there was a real and urgent need, and she continues to show up for them every single day.

BACKGROUND
The Children’s Benevolence Foundation was born out of the personal adversity and resilience of its founder, MAMA PROSSY. Growing up as an orphan in Matale village, Masaka, she experienced firsthand the devastating impact of the 1990’s AIDS epidemic in Uganda, which claimed her parents and separated her from her siblings.
Her journey was marked by both hardship and survival:
- Became a school "Dependent” to afford her education, she spent her holidays digging at her school to pay off tuition fees.
- The turning point: After O- level she faced a traumatic experience when a benefactor attempted to exploit her sexually in exchange for school fees. Her refusal led to the end of her formal education, but it sparked a deeper mission.
- The calling: while working as a school secretary and bursar at the age of 18, she became the primary guardian for her siblings. This responsibility evolved into a lifelong calling to protect other vulnerable children.
Founded in 2024, the foundation specifically targets children suffering from mental health and psychological issues. It serves as a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, providing the support and advocacy she realized was missing during her own up bring.
MISSION
To transform the pain of abandonment into a promise of protection by providing mental health support and advocacy for children and youth ensuring no child has to trade their dignity for an education, or suffer in silence.
OBJECTIVES
1. MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT:
To provide professional counseling and safe spaces for children suffering from trauma, grief, and mental health challenges, especially those silenced by their circumstances.
2. EDUCATIONAL SAFEGUARDING:
To facilitate access to education for orphans and vulnerable children without them being subjected to labor exploitation or sexual abuse in exchange for fees.
3. SIBLING AND FAMILY REJUVENATION:
To support young heads of households and siblings who have been separated by poverty, death, helping them stay connected and supported.
4. ADVOCACY AGAINST EXPLOITATION:
To create awareness and protection mechanisms that shield young girls and students from good Samaritans who seek to trade financial help for sexual favors.
5. EMPOWERMENT AND SELF- RELIANCE:
To equip vulnerable youth with the life skills and psychological resilience needed to transition from dependents to independent, healthy adults.
KEY PROJECTS TO FUNDRAISE FOR;
1. The “Voice” counselling center: A safe space for children to receive professional mental health services and report exploitation safely.
2. Dignified education fund: Providing school requirements and fees specifically for orphans at risk of “transactional” help, ensuring they never have to trade dignity for tuition.
3. Community protection training: Training local advocates to recognize and stop the kind of exploitation she faced from “good Samaritans”.
