We started the “Hunti’s Hope Hunters” project as a family in 2018 in an effort to give back to the recovery community after losing our nephew and cousin, Hunter, to a substance use disorder and overdose. We have gifted hundreds of helpers- the “Hope Hunters”-with bookmarks that P created when she was 7, and hundreds to those in recovery (Hunt for Hope). It’s hard to believe P is now 14 with a little brother the same age she was when this all started. Our family’s desire to help and thank others remains strong.

We were just invited to share our story and our thanks to one of the largest recovery community gatherings in our region. We are going “Back to the Beginning” to thank the “helpers” for being Hope Hunters, and we need your help!

The event takes place December 3 so we have to hit the ground running and make this happen NOW!

We are hoping to raise enough funds to gift the recovery community “helpers” with more than the bookmarks. Your contribution will help us make our thank you bags even better (e.g., gift cards, wellness items).

We recognize the very difficult times so many people are going through, and how much they need our help. Please know that any amount is appreciated (skip a Starbucks or Dunkin run) but if you can’t at this time, we ask that you simply hold a space in your heart and thoughts for those in recovery and those helping them stay there- all in memory of our Hunter and others lost to this disease.
